| Episode Title: "TUVIX" Production Number: 840 Original Air Date: 05-06-96 Stardates: 49655.2 Synopsis: After collecting alien orchids on a planet, Neelix and Tuvok are beamed up to the Voyager, but a transporter accident merges them at the molecular level into a single person, who calls himself Tuvix. The Emergency Medical Hologram cannot find a way to reverse the accident for several weeks, in which time Tuvix becomes a member of the crew and makes friends on the ship; with his merged personality, he is a more creative tactical officer than Tuvok, and a better cook than Neelix. When the E.M.H. eventually finds a way to reverse the accident, Tuvix tells the captain that he wants to live as an individual, but Captain Janeway decides to sacrifice Tuvix to restore Tuvok and Neelix.
