Synopsis:
When Captain Janeway and Neelix return from a diplomatic mission with the Tak-Tak consul, they find the Voyager infested by giant "Macroviruses" from a Garan mining colony. After Neelix is infected by the Macroviruses, Janeway uses characters in Neelix's holodeck simulation of the Paxau resort to distract the Macroviruses while she and the E.M.H. work on a cure for the crew.
Factoid: Captain Janeway has studied chromolinguistics, American Sign Language, the gestural idioms of the Leyron, but she cannot understand the gestures of the Tak-Tak. After Neelix uses his doplimatic skills to clear up a misunderstanding caused by Janeway's gestures, she considers making him an unofficial ambassador.
Factoid: Neelix grew up near the Rinax marshlands, which had the hottest summers in the sector -- 50 degrees Celsius, 90 percent humidity, and the most vicious lavaflies you've ever seen. There were three suns, and the lavaflies grew to be six centimeters long; insect repellent was a booming business.
