Production Number: 082 Original Air Date: 11-12-04 Stardates: May 27, 2154 Synopsis: After Captain Archer stops the deadly pathogens from killing the crew of Cold Station 12, the Enterprise continues to pursue Dr. Soong and his Augments into Klingon space. Soong wants to set up a base in Klach D'kel Brakt (or the "Briar Patch," as Soong calls it), a region flooded with radiation from supernova remnants, where he can incubate and raise the genetically augmented embryos he has stolen, but the Augments want to take a more aggressive course of action, and plan to attack the the Qu'Vat colony with their stolen pathogens, in order to provoke a war between the Klingon Empire and Earth. Soong escapes from the Augments' stolen Klingon ship aboard an escape pod. He is picked up by the Enterprise, and tells the crew of the Augments' plan. The Enterprise is able to destroy the bio-weapon and disable the Augments' ship before the Klingon colony is destroyed, and the Klingons decide not to retaliate against Earth. Dr. Soong is returned to prison on Earth, and he decides that cybernetics and artificial life-forms might be a more useful field of study for future generations than trying to perfect human DNA.
