In memory of Episode Title: "STIGMA" Production Number: 040 Original Air Date: 02-05-03 Stardates: ~ Synopsis: The Enterprise enters orbit of Dekendi Three, where the Interspecies Medical Exchange is hosting a conference. The crew is picking up a medical neutron microscope delivered by Dr. Phlox's second wife, Feezal Phlox. Subcommander T'Pol is suffering from Pa'nar Syndrome -- an incurable degradation of the synaptic pathways that also affects the endocrine and immune systems -- which is transmitted through mind-melds by a deviant telepathic minority of Vulcans. Dr. Phlox asks a group of Vulcan physicians at the conference about current research on Pa'nar Syndrome, and they learn that T'Pol has the disease. Dr. Oratt, a ranking member of the Council of Physicians, threatens to recall T'Pol to Vulcan and inform the High Command of her condition, since the practice of mind-melds is not condoned in Vulcan society. Dr. Yuris, a member of the telepathic minority, gives Dr. Phlox the latest research on Pa'nar Syndrome so he can develop a treatment for T'Pol. When the Council of Physicians learns that T'Pol was subjected to a mind-meld against her will, they allow her to remain aboard the Enterprise, but the Council recalls Dr. Yuris when he admits being a member of the minority.
