Synopsis: Blaming the humans for bringing the Tellarites and Andorians together in an alliance, the Romulans plan to use two of their drone ships to attack the Enterprise.

Commander Shran remains aboard the Enterprise to help track down the drone ship. The crew determines that the drone is piloted remotely by a powerful telepath, whose brainwaves are similar to Andorians'. Shran says that the pilot may be one of the secretive Aenar, a blind subspecies of Andorian ice-dwellers.

The Andorian Chancelor contacts the Aenar, and Commander Shran leads Captain Archer to meet with them. The Aenar tell Archer that one of their people, Gareb, disappeared a year ago, and may be piloting the Romulan drone against his will. Gareb's sister, Jhamel, agrees to go with Archer and Shran to the Enterprise, and use her telepathic abilities to disrupt the signal controlling the drone ship.

After the cargo ship Ticonderoga goes missing, the Enterprise approaches its last known coordinates and finds the ship destroyed. The two Romulan drones attack the Enterprise, but Jhamel telepathically contacts Gareb and tells him to stop the attack. When Gareb commands the drone ships to destroy each other, Romulan Admiral Valdore kills him. With the threat of the drones ended, the Enterprise returns Shran and Jhamel to Andoria.

Commander Tucker finds it difficult to work aboard the Enterprise with his personal feelings for Commander T'Pol, and he requests to be transferred to the Columbia.
